The way PubSub describes the search, if the PubSub user wants to search the "complete phrase," they are supposed to put the comment in quotes.

It doesn't appear as though this works.


Quotations without And


Search1 string: "Rat Hamburger"

Results: Content with either Rat or Hamburger.


However, when users "use quotations around a single phrase, and include and", the results are not either-or.


Quotations with And


Search 2 string: "Rat and Hamburger"

Results: Nothing.


Users are taught in pubsub to use parentheses to have a combined search; yet the results produce an "either-or" outcome.

If search1 rule was correct [the phrase takes either item1 or item 2], we ask, "Why would not the second search product an either-or result [Either "Rat", or "And", or Hamburger"]?

Possible error modes, the command is:

  • Embedded

  • Duplicate

  • Missing

  • Something else
