Pipeline status

Published content pinged; content then removed; no longer available in XML-feed-blog-search tool [Technorati], but still visible on an aggregator [Bloglines]

If you review Mud's Test bloglines account, you'll see a message related to Asteroids [ Apple iPod Asteroid Sound Product Spinoffs ]. This message has been withrawn.

A target string was included in the original message: Must Cite as “Mud’s Tests”

However, there is a curious thing. Bloglines continues to show the message; while Technorati no longer reports the message.

What is known is that, because the message-blog posted to bloglines, we have evidence that the ping was valid. Conversely, it is unusual that a pinged-service would not show the content that had otherwise been published.

Questions

  • Is it designed-desired for Technorati to "only report active content"?

  • Is it the approach of Technorait that content, even if it pings, will only stay in Technorati as long as that content is available on the web?
