Question: What do you think incorporating latest technologies such as GIS in your disaster management programme?

Indian Official Response:
The GIS has evolved as a decision support system simply due to its capabilities of integrating enormous amount of complex data and displaying it in an interpretable and meaningful form. It has to be integrated in our programmes. It is inevitable. Ministry is contemplating a GIS based management progaramme at national level.
