Ping O Matic: Suggestion

I've noticed as new services are added, the URL-changes for the Ping. For those who save the URL for an auto-ping, guess what: We have to redo the URL.

An alternative: Have a universal-check box for "all services" that never changes in the URL-URI. Users can then de-select, if they want, those services they do not want to have pinged.

Continue to keep the "specialized services" in a separate category.

Benefits

  • Additions to FeedMesh services does not require a new ping-URL for users to change, use, and add to templates or saved bookmarks.

  • PingOMatic can make seamless additions without users having to make updates to their pinging URLs.

  • Has a universal "add to all services" [other than specialized services] that allow faster user-access and use.

  • When companies like Moreover announce new pinging options to support another site [as they did with MSN Spaces], they can simply include the link to PingOMatic, and inform the public in the Press release that "it's all transparent, you don't even have to update your URL to ping the services."
