Comments, NewsGator, 2-Mar-05 UTC 00:29:58

27 Minutes

Time for a comment posted in Haloscan.com comments to travel along the RSS feed and report in Newsgator.com online. One thing to check is that you are using a valid feed.

Time

NewsGator time that appears in your aggregator is your local time. Doesn't look like users can adjust NewsGator Online time-zone to synchronize with other platforms or tools. [Nice to have]

Folders

Newly added comment folders containing comment-RSS feed may disappear. Stay tuned, they'll reappear. [Transitory problem; unusual, but not critical]

If you have a newly added RSS feed for comments, the NewsGator folder for those comments may disappear. If you check too quickly after posting, there may not be anything appearing in the folder. This is a time-lag issue.

For some reason, the folders related to comments may disappear if there is no newly added comment-content. The NewsGator folder will likely reappear once the comments travel from your blog to NewsGator.

If you add, delete, then re-add a similar feed, NewsGator Online will automatically place the similar feed in the old folder. That's nice. [Surprising if you don't know it's been placed for you; can be disconcerting when the feed has been added to a folder that isn't showing up ... but then the folder appears after re-signing in.]

Solution

If you are unable to find an added feed, open up your folders, and look for a small gray dot, with a smaller white circle. That's an added feed. Most likely the feed that has been added will be in the old folder.

If you have added the feed to a specific folder, but the folder has disappeared, don't worry. The folder will eventually reappear. It looks like one solution is to sign-out and resign in. But the folder may or may not appear the first time.
