Newsgator: What to do if your feeds and subscriptions do not show up in your files

Unlike a message that says "unable to load," sometimes when you load a file to Newsgator, the file does not immediately appear in the left file window.

With some time and clicks, the file may appear. There's a trick to getting it to work. Sometimes the settings need to be reconfigured.

Update settings: Look for "New subscriptions will NOT be automatically added to this location. Click to change"; you'll want to toggle to the 0-option to make them appear.

. . .

There's another way to check...

Check your feed list. Look for items that are listed as "custom". Those may be the ones that are not showing up. You can also change the settings here: Look for the pencil-edit to the right of "custom".

Scroll down to section Step 4: Choose your Locations

If the "NewsGator Web Edition" option has no tic-box-marked, then that explains why you aren't seeing the newly added feed appearing.

Change that tic-box to "Yes" by adding a tic to it. Your feeds should show up in your left-folder file.
