NewsgatorOnline: Clippings, folder management

Long Menus

Can they be split into smaller windows?

I've noticed with Newsgator Online that the menus can get pretty long. If we add items to the clipping file, it can be difficult to see some of the folders.

For example, suppose one were to have 30 files in their clipping file. When we go to the bottom of the news article to save it as a clipping, with one click we can see which folder we might want to add this to.

Currently, there's a drop-down menu that shows up. When we click on the folder-icon to add the clipping, this yellow-box shows up.

There's one problem. As the list of folders gets very long, the bottom of the list can fall down below the bottom of the screen.

This does two things: Users have to carefully slide their mouse along the menu, and then follow all the way down.

Ever hunted for a folder for so long that when you suddenly find it, that you have forgotten what you are filing?

In short, the problem is that the dropdown menu is too long when the number of folders is large.

Suggestion

Separate the clippings and feed files into two separate menus

My reason for writing is to suggest a way to segregate the dropdown menus into two groups: A clip file and then a feed=file.

Suggestion

Permit cross-file transfer across root folders

I've also noticed that I can add a folder to either clippings or feeds.

However, if I want to move a file from clippings to feeds [or vice versa], I get the following message:
* Cannot move across root folders.
For that matter, if we have chosen to move an item from the main file to the clippings, it seems strange that there are limits on where folders can go.

In other words, I can take an item of out an incoming feed [feed file], and take it across the barrier between feeds-clippings, and drop it into clippings. However, this "cross file transfer" is not possible with other folder names.

Could the we have a feature that allows users to move folders back and for the between clippings and feeds.

Perhaps there is a reason for allowing clippings, but not the folders themselves, to cross the barrier between root folders?
